Southern National Championship

The 4th Annual American Bird Dog Classic Southern National Championship was held at Breezy Knoll Farm on March 20 & March 21, 2026. In excess of $7,500 in cash and prizes was awarded for the championship weekend.

On Friday 20 dogs competed in Round 1. Friday’s winners were:

1st place - Buzz with Don Milligan handler, Don Hockett owner

2nd place - Dan with Larry Mize handler/owner

3rd place - Mick with Jeff Gamble handler/owner


The top 16 dogs advanced to Friday afternoon. On Friday afternoon and Saturday, all rounds were a beat your bracemate format. Friday afternoon's round 2 consisting of 8 braces & 16 dogs, continued Saturday with round 3 having 4 braces & 8 dogs, then round 4 with 2 braces & 4 dogs, and finishing with the final brace with the top 2 dogs.
